LENT (attempted)

so i thought Lent would be a cool thing to do this year. i'm not catholic or anything but i wanted to see if i could give up something for 40 days. apparently i cannot. i tried to give up sweets. all sweets. can we say suicide? what was i thinking? i couldn't eat ice cream, cookies, candy, cake, brownies, etc. i did allow myself to have hot chocolate though because it's cold outside. i was completely dedicated to the idea of Lent even after i had failed to get my friends to try it with me, until i was confronted by a milkshake. i just had to have some. so i did. and i failed. i went a whopping 4 days without sweets. pathetic? yeah...pathetic. good thing im not catholic.

Reuben

This is my totally sweet fish. He is a Siamese Fighting Fish, or commonly known as a betta fish. I got him for Valentine's Day along with some flowers from Jeremy. It was such a wonderful day. This guy's full name is Reuben the Great Betta Clover. He is Reuben the Great because we went to Jason's Deli (great place by the way... so good) and there was a sandwich called "Reuben the Great", so we renamed the fish from just Reuben to Reuben the Great. His middle name is Betta because Jeremy called him Betta the first day he had him before he gave him to me and we didn't want to leave that out and his last name is Clover because that's Jeremy's last name. Hopefully, I can provide for Reuben. He's such a cool fish and so chill. He's hanging out with me right now. He might even be able to see himself on the screen. Anyways, I couldn't ask for a better, more easy going pet. Thanks Jeremy, you are the best! I finally have my cute little fish..... love it!

Last Day :(

today was my last day of working as an early morning custodian. i got a new job on campus where i will be working in the afternoons. from here on out i will not have to wake up at 4 in the morning to go to work. i am so excited to get more sleep. the three to four hours a night was just not cutting it. i will be able to sleep in until 8.... amazing. every friday we have breakfast and today was no different. we had crepes today and they were so good. i filled mine with pina colada yogurt, raspberries, bananas, peaches, and whipping cream. delicious. since it was my last day, Shana brought in her Wii and we did some boxing. i won my match right after it went into the fourth round. it was pretty intense. i am definitely going to miss the people i have worked with and have had the chance to meet over the last 7.5 months. thanks for making it so fun guys! we have had some good laughs and classic times. for those of the crew that continue to respond to the 3:30 alarm clock... i salute you.

A Kitty Cat?

A random cat just moseyed on into our apartment today. It was really strange. I didn't think cats wandered about the streets in the winter time. It must have been cold. The poor thing was reluctant to leave. Sarah, the courageous soul, was the one that picked up the fierce feline and set it outside. But she only did so after she came at Jeremy with it and chased him around the room with it. Jeremy had quite an entertaining reaction. He was screaming and telling Sarah he was going to kick it if she didn't get it away from him. I guess he doesn't like cats. Who would have thought? Sarah left and called two minutes later to apologize to Jeremy. She felt bad because she realized she stuck a ferocious, murderous kitten on her boyfriend’s twin or her roommate’s boyfriend. Confused? We (Sarah and I) hope you realize the ridiculousness of calling a little kitten murderous, in fact the kitten was really nice and Sarah wants it to be her new best friend. The pictures are of the kitty's path. It started outside, came inside, sauntered around, and then the cat went back outside and escaped.

im at the public library

i was studying... and studying... and studying (yes even on a friday night), and then i decided to take a mental break from the whole thing and go mess around on the internet for a minute or two (or twenty... whatever). public libraries are interesting places with interesting people. the computer i am sitting at seems to have a delightful stench that just might be here forever. probably into the millenium. yah... it's gross. hopefully i don't leave this computer with a new smell as a souvenir. the people around me look like they have been sitting here for more than half their lives and they are glued to their computer screens. it looks as though some of my fellow computer users shower about once every two weeks. not even kidding. maybe they are trying to conserve water. that's nice of them. caring for the environment is important. the public library really is a great place to study when i want a change of scenery from the library on campus and it is a lot more entertaining when I want to be distracted from reading the assignemtns from the textbooks. i would definitely recommend it. but maybe i would recommend the public computer usage only to those that have stuffy noses. otherwise just haul your laptop to the library... its worth it. well i gotta run (or just walk calmly to all of my stuff)... my statistics book is probably calling my name and the timer reads that I have 54 minutes remaining for my computer session which means i have been on here for way more than 20 minutes. aaahhhh!

GGGGOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!

intramural soccer update!

our game on saturday was almost as intense as this one... seriously... ok maybe not that intense, but close

our soccer game was amazing... we actually won! woohoo. both halves this time. it was 6-1. and guess what??!? i scored. yeah you read it right. i scored a goal. the second goal in the game to be more precise. steve, this guy on our team, crossed the ball to me and i knee-ed it in the goal right off the cross. no bounce, no trap, no nothing. there was even a defender there trying to throw my game off. they failed though, and I succeded. there's the story, it wasn't that amazing, but it was alot of fun. and since it's co-ed soccer, the goals that girls score are worth 2 points... kind of a wierd concept since im not into the whole special treatment thing just because i'm a girl, but i was ok with getting 2 points for my team :)
