I've been TAGGED!

1. Post the rules
2. Answer all the questions about yourself
3. After you are done posting, tag 5 people.... GO!

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
-I was 9 years old. I was living in Salt Lake City, Utah and I was in the 4th grade. I had this crazy crush on my friend Alex, so I was probably chasing him on the playground with my buddy Rebecca during recess and jumping on her trampoline after school. Those were some really good times!

2. Five things on your to do list today:
-Get through work (that's where I am right now)
-Pick up my newly charged scooter battery
-Finish moving my stuff into my new apartment
-Get ready for a wedding reception
-Dance the night away with my buddies

3. Snacks I enjoy:
-ice cream, popcorn, cereal, cheese & crackers, granola bars

4. What would I do if I was suddenly a billionaire.
-I hate to spend my money (I would rather spend my mom's), so I would put lots into savings. But I would treat myself to a small shopping spree for cute summer clothes, buy a new Honda Civic or Nissan Altima, donate lots of money to those in need, travel the world a little bit with whoever wanted to come, buy a cute little house so I wouldn't have to pay rent, and buy my family tons of presents!

5. Three bad habits:
-I am addicted to chewing ice! I love cold water with LOTS of ice... so refreshing!
-I'm always thinking of more efficient ways to do things... (Jeremy hates it when I tell him to take certain routes just because I think they might be a minute faster)... why don't I just sit back and relax?
-I don't like waiting... really for anything. I need to learn patience.

6. Five places I've lived:
-Salt Lake City, UT
-Casper, WY
-Las Vegas, NV
-Provo, UT

7. Five jobs I've had
-Asst. Manager at Pier 1
-Cleanliness Engineer (Custodian) on Campus
-Register people for Camps and Confrences

8. Five things that people don't know about me:
-I love Italian Sodas. They are one of my favorite things. If you have never had one, go get one! I recommend the raspberry flavor. They are so good!
-I don't ever want a pet, besides a fish. They are just so needy. I would rather spend time with people anyways... not animals. But fish are fun. I like fish.
-I'm very particular about how the dishwasher is loaded. If I think it can be done a better way, I actually spend time reorganizing the whole thing. Weird.. I know.
-I skipped kindergarten after going for about a month. They just moved me up to the first grade, because I could read. Sad... kindergarten is one of the best years.
-I have horrible study habits. After only an hour of studying for a test, I decide I need a break, and I get distracted. Then I study for like an hour more, get sick of studying, and go take the test. I seem to be surviving, though, so that's a plus!

TAG, You're it!: Mom, Riley, Rebecca, Lindsey, Jeremy (haha... Have fun!)

I'm DONE!

I just finished my last final today! And it was for Statistics. Woohoo! I am so excited to be done. I still don't think that it has totally hit me yet. I won't have to go to the library and study until midnight tonight. I can watch a movie, paint my toe nails, read a book, sit in the hot tub....hmmm... my options seem endless! It feels good! Yes, it feels soooo good!

Amy

Here is a video from Dove's "Real Beauty Campaign." We talked about these in my Sociology of Gender class this semester. The media is rough out there, but we don't have any sort of system that teaches children that the media can distort things that are real. Make sure that you know that you are beautiful and definitely make sure that your daughters know that too.

Evolution

Here is another video from Dove. It really makes you think about things. I usually end up comparing myself to all those amazing looking people on tv, and then I just feel bad about myself. But those girls are either not eating or they have been altered by the computer. So I challenge you to love yourself... all of yourself.

Onslaught

Here is a video made by Dove for their "Real Beauty Campaign." It is crazy how much pressure teenage girls deal with. I really think that almost every girl has issues with their self-image. Make sure that all the women around you, whether that be yourself, daughters, mothers, sisters, etc, know that they are beautiful daughters of God. Don't let yourself buy into the pressures of the media. You are beautiful... really you are.

Where's Romania?

For all those that have been waiting in anticipation just like I have, I have an announcement.... I am going to ROMANIA for the fall semester. I am so excited! I just got an email today saying that I was accepted for the internship program through BYU. Here is the link if you want to know more information about it: http://kennedy.byu.edu/isp/isp.php?id=141. Or I can give you the quick summary instead. Basically, I will be working in the orphanages over there for three hours every morning and also doing service at the Children's Hospital and other organizations for three hours in the afternoon. I will be there for the whole fall semester, so about 3.5 months. I will be learning Romanian this spring and I will start trying to get everything ready to go. I just want to quick thank everyone who has been so supportive of me going. You guys are the best! Here is a map for those of you who are actually wondering where Romania is... don't feel bad, I didn't know at first either. (its the purple country below the big red one)

Throw the Scissors!

Today I participated in the Largest Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament. We were trying to break the world record. The winner got $3,000 and I was sure that I could go all the way with my strategies. So I signed up and went with three of my roommates: Dee, Serena, and Jenn. I was so excited as I prepared for the first throwdown. My dreams of winning were crushed when I was beaten in the first round. :( Only Jenn made it past the first round. She got all the way to the third. It was fun to watch the finals. Everything depended on a split-second decision. It was crazy! Here is a picture of the kid that got first place:

Ramblings...

I have two weeks left in this semster... I am so excited... and so done. I have enjoyed my classes overall, except Statistics. That's definitely not my favorite class, but hey... I'm done with it in like 14 days, so whatever. I seriously can't wait. I have one week of classes and then the last week is for finals... I'm not really sure how well they will all go. But there is more to life than my grades so its all ok.

Oh and it snowed again today... the weather is something I don't really understand. This morning I got all ready for class and opened the door, and was greeted by pouring rain. I had to change my flip-flops and also grab a coat when I was alrady running late. It was pretty comical. I was only ten minutes late and I snuck in the side of my class, so it wasn't bad at all. After my first class, I went outside and was pounded with snow. I felt like I was combatting a blizzard... in April. What?! None of the snow stuck so it was pretty harmless and good for the grass.

And how was that game tonight. Unbelievable! I still can't believe that Kansas actually got that three-pointer with 3 seconds to go. Way to have a plan of action and have it really work. I was sincerely impressed. It was so intense. What a game. So fun to watch. Sorry to all those that are die hard Memphis fans or those that had anybody but Kansas winning for their brackets. Hopefully you didn't put any money down, because gambling is a messy addiction. Like meth. Its just not worth it.

I am ENGAGED! I am so excited! I will be getting married on June 6th in the San Diego Temple! And you all better come! I had the most amazing day today! Jeremy, my fiance, made me lunch and then we went to eat it by the duck pond. I just love the ducks. While we were there he got everyone's attention. Then Jeremy professed his love for me and asked me to marry him. I said yes of course! My ring looks exactly like the picture above. It is soooo pretty! I love it! The two side stones are princess cut and the middle one is a the round cut. This is the best day of my life!

haha.. just kidding... april fool's day!
