pot guts and rock chucks

we spent the weekend at the family ranch by strawberry reservoir.

it started out as my great-grandpa's cattle and sheep ranch and my dad would herd the sheep during the summer when he was little. he always talks about shooting pot guts and rock chucks. (i guess rock chucks are bigger versions of pot guts.) now it is more of a summer ranch house. we love going there. i remember learning to play dominoes with my great grandma verland, riding horses with my cousins, and hiking to the pond. the ranch house is filled with so many memories.

while shooting a 308 rifle, the scope clocked jeremy in between the eyes. but he hit the soda can from 300 yards away on the same shot, so he was a happy camper. i think he just wanted to be like me. luckily stitches weren't required in his case.

it was a fun weekend.

the last time

oh yeah! our new place has a washer and dryer. jeremy can't wait!

hurricane provo

we may have had a hurricane yesterday, minus the wind. really, we just had a LOT of rain... and also some hail. so naturally i had to get out the yellow rain boots so i could splash in the GIANT puddles. fun stuff. puddles are just great. i am convinced, everyone needs a pair of rain boots! i may have frantically searched through packed boxes in order to get to these yellow beauties. totally worth it.

tanlines are fun

huntington beach - july 2011

we had a great time (and some awesome beach hair). the boys boogie boarded, while i bobbed
in the waves, and my mom read her book. we saw dolphins everyday and laid in the sun to our
hearts' content - jeremy's heart preferred the shade. we are definitely beach people.







my new favorite s'more: replace hershey's with andes mints. it is the only way to go.

the beach. loved every minute.
