SF Part 1

DAY 1

the greater part of this day was spent getting to san francisco

two short flights and one lay-over later we were in oakland. after mastering the underground
transportation and walking 4 blocks downtown with our luggage in tow, we finally arrived at our
hotel- which happened to be the grand hyatt at union square!! woot woot!

we checked in, unloaded, and headed out to explore the city streets with less baggage.

we ate dinner at lori's diner- a 50's diner.

it was WAY good after snacking on peanuts and pretzels all day.

then we called it a night and headed back to our hotel to plan the next day.

DAY 2

we started the day with a relaxed morning and chatted with my cool brother who is busy
serving a mission in florida. then we headed to fisherman's wharf to check out the sights.

the sea lions were cool. i could watch those guys all day.

we wandered around and found some street performers. they were quite the break dancers
and they probably made $100 off of this 10 to 15 minute show. no kidding. they are smart kids.

we witnessed the bush man, street carts, a tap dancer accompanying a hopeful rapper, many
boats, and crabs. lots. of. crabs. and they stink.

we aren't really fish people, so we settled on chili rather than clam chowder in our
sourdough bread bowls for dinner. we were both very satisfied... even though many of
you are probably disappointed.

then we sat in the park and pondered life while we chatted with our mommas. some homeless
teens offered me some weed after we noticed they were smoking it. i declined and continued to
chat with them about the beautiful day we were having... no joke. and after a cool trolley ride
up and down the big hills, we were back at our hotel.

but we eyed lori's diner before we could make it to our hotel and stopped in for a banana split.

it was delicious!

6 more days to come
