Something that has boggled my mind for the last couple of years is...
the NBA 6th Man of the Year Award.
To quote good ole Wikipedia:
"The National Basketball Association's Sixth Man of the Year Award is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) award given since the 1982-83 NBA season to the league's most valuable player for his team coming off the bench as a substitute (or sixth man)."
Does this seem odd to you?
"Congrats... you're the best bench player in the league." Doesn't this award just confirm that the player is not a starter and is stuck being the supporting cast? It's like saying "You're the best... except for all the people that are better than you." I don't get it. It's like giving an award to the best golf caddy- they are part of the game, but they aren't making the amazing shots.
Jeremy and my dad disagree... they think it really is an honor. Me? I just think it's funny.
