microwave it

years ago (like 12 or more)...
me, sam, and riley were eating starbursts.

my favorite way to eat them was to hold two different flavors tight in my hand until they were soft enough to mold. unwrap them both, press them together, and twist. twist, twist, twist and then roll. roll until i had a swirly ball. like this...

a lemon strawberry one in this case

well, on this particular day years ago, i told the boys that if you put a starburst ball in the microwave for 10 minutes that it would turn into a bouncy ball. they of course believed me, because i am not a liar. they were on their way to test out this claim when mom walked into the kitchen and asked them what they were doing. they told her about the cool trick i just shared with them, which was followed by stifled laughs and a "kaaaatie" from my mom in that tone, you know the one.

needless to say, we didn't get to see if it worked, but whenever i eat starburts, i get the hankering for a starburst ball.

Growing up my brother and I always put starburst in the microwave. Not for 10 minutes mind you, but a couple of seconds work better than hand heat. And make for a slightly warm starbust ball. Yum.

Oh my gosh, my sister and I would do the same thing!! But instead of forming it into a ball we would make a long twisting colored rope!! Its the best way to eat them!! I'll have to try the ball next time.
