thoreau's hangout

we spent saturday morning at walden pond.

we checked out thoreau's replica hut, walked along the pond, set up camp to play in the water, and ate our packed lunch on the beach (which included our fresh nectarines).  while it was it was pretty overcast, we only had 2 minutes of rain. luckily it wasn't cold and then we saw bits of the golden sun.

walden pond was grounding and peaceful even if we were there for only a few hours.  i can't imagine being there by myself, like thoreau, for about two years.  i'm sure his experience was isolating, liberating, life-changing, and full of discovery.  i bet it was incredible.  nature often is.

I can't wait to check out Walden Pond. We tried a little while ago but the park was already full and they weren't letting anyone else in. I'm glad you didn't get rained on for too long! Looks like a fun Saturday!!
