Red's Kitchen and Tavern

our quest for the best: BREAKFAST PLACE

round 6

Red's Kitchen and Tavern
131 Newbury St, Peabody, MA 01960

the deets:
the food: i got scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, homefries, sourdough toast, and hot chocolate and jeremy ordered cinnamon french toast.  don't worry... jeremy helped me eat mine.  the food was good.  it wasn't jaw-dropping delicious and it was perfectly adequate.  the portions were pretty large! we struggled to wipe our plates clean.

prices: the prices were average.  about 8.00 for mine including my hot chocolate and 8.00 for jeremy's special of the day.

service: the service was fine.  it seemed to take our server a while to take our order and besides that it was just great.

the verdict:
the food was good and we were pleasantly full.  i don't think anything could be categorized as amazing, but it was delicious.  the hot chocolate, the home fries, the French toast... it was all tasty.  this place was right on the way to the farm to pick pumpkins which was a major plus.  i would definitely go again if i was heading in that direction and probably wouldn't go way out of my way to go.  there are places closer to us that offer the same plates.
