today we ventured south to the land of sailboats and mansions...
and that would be newport, rhode island.
and that would be newport, rhode island.
we also took a very expensive wrong turn on the way. we had to pay $4 to cross a bridge and then pay another $4 to turn around and cross it again. good thing we like rhode island or else i might be holding a major grudge... instead i am just considering it my personal donation to the pretty state.
anyways... once we finally arrived to our destination, we:
ate lunch in the park on the wharf, took a look at fort adams, watched the sailboats glide around, witnessed the beauty of ocean drive, climbed on some ocean rocks, found the mansions and other huge mansions, dreamed of having their pretty views, padded along a mile of the cliff walk, dropped by the tennis hall of fame, ate some bbq beef brisket, watched the sailors again (they are so cool), purchased a magnet and an overpriced cookie, scored a free waffle cone (oh yeah!), and headed home beneath the beautiful full moon.
newport... i didn't get nearly enough of you in just one day.
i will return! and next time, i think i will sail.
