we did some black friday shopping in the late night hours and in the morning. and it paid off because we got some sweet deals! after recuperating, we started off for the North End to finish up the freedom trail.
we enjoyed our mandatory treat stop. we were going to try Modern Pastry, but Mike's line goes faster. we will have to try Modern some other time. regardless, i think i am sold on the whoopie pies... DELICIOUS!

we took the ferry back to the city to give our leggies a break and catch the sweet views.
as we wandered back to the hotel we stumbled upon the Macy's tree lighting just as the countdown began. we couldn't believe our timing. the whole event was complete with confetti. confetti is my new favorite!
it rocked! then the evening consisted of the new james bond movie for the boys and knitting and online christmas shopping for the girls. we know how to divide and conquer.
