i'm tan

our memorial day weekend was spent at huntington beach with my family. we played at the beach, hit up a baseball game, and saw family. so fun!

my mom took most of these and sam took the others. i was playing too hard to worry about documenting the fun. i usually just lay in the sun, but this time i actually went in the ocean and got pummeled by some big waves. it was so fun! there are more pictures from the trip on my mom's blog.... here, here, and here.

i take rat poison

today i got the results for my blood test from last week. it turns out that it was way low. my blood was clotting at 1.4 and it is supposed to be between 2 and 3. that means my blood is too thick. so my coumadin dosage has become way more complicated. (hah... its not that bad) i used to take 1.5 mg a day (half a pill). now i take half a pill on all days except for monday, wednesday, and friday. those days i take a whole pill. i also have to go back next week and get my blood drawn again to see if there is any improvement. nothing like getting pricked more often... but they always give me a cool bandaid (like curious george) and they have a basket full of dum dums (i usually take three). those people are pretty neat!

promoted

today my boss offered me a promotion at work!
woot woot!
i was a "customer service representative." i would tell people where to go in the building and register people for camps, conferences, and online classes. i first got the job last february.
as of today i am an "accountant." i'm just following in the footsteps of my parents i guess. i started training and so far it all makes sense. hopefully things will stay that way. as far as i know i deposit money for the various registrations we do into the right accounts using cashnet.
i work in the same office with the same awesome people (yay!) but now i get more hours and more money.
and that equals...more shopping.

perfect!

Sam has been called.

My little brother Sam opened his mission call tonight! Jeremy and I were on speaker phone when he opened it... we didn't want to miss a thing. He has been called to serve in the Florida Orlando Mission! He is pretty relieved that he has been called on a mission inside the States. He is looking forward to the familiar food, more packages, and speaking English. We are way excited! Congrats Sammy!

this morning

i got to sleep in because i had the day off. woohoo! so i got up around 9 and i was sitting on the couch thinking about all the things i was going to do this morning. i was ready to conquer the world. and then there was a knock at the door. i ran to get a robe, opened the door and it was a painter. background story: a couple weeks ago we had a leak in our bathroom. we filled out a maintanance request form and about a week later someone came and tore out our bathroom ceiling and half of the wall and put new dry wall in. and today the painter came to finish the job, i hope. the painter was supposedly working away and then he comes out and asks if he could use the bathroom. i say yes and then he asks if i have more toilet paper. gross gross gross! so i hand him an extra roll. then there is another knock at the door. i think it was this guy's boss because he wanted to talk to him. so he goes and opens the bathroom door and the painter says excuse me and shuts it. i guess he didn't know how to lock it. then the boss tries to open the door again and says its ok i just want to talk to you about painting another apartment. the painter shuts the door again and says he is going to the bathroom. oh man... this painter just can't win today. the boss waits until the painter is done and then they both leave to look at that other apartment. and now the painter is back and hopefully he is actually painting my bathroom and not dancing to his loud music. so currently i am banned from the bathroom. great. my contacts are in there, i have to go to the bathroom....bad, i can't shower, and i haven't even put a brush through my hair yet today. i bet i look fantastic.

all i can say is that i hope you are enjoying your unoccupied bathroom. i can't wait to have mine back.

homemade

Jeremy and I made our own Soft Pretzels today. They were delicious! We covered them with salt & melted butter and then dipped them in cheese. Now that's what I call a good snack! Here is the recipe on my cousin's cooking blog. She is amazing in the kitchen!

just making my wish list

for what you ask?

for mother's day.

am i allowed to do that?

well, here are my 4 reasons of why i can. #1 i'm married and that is one step closer to motherhood, #2 i will be having children eventually, #3 i am afraid of the whole birthing process, #4 because being pregnant with blood mutations is complicated (shots twice a day for 9 months... ugh), so gifts before the whole thing even begins would be much appreciated so here is jeremy's chance to butter me up a bit. haha!

item #1 on my mother's day wish list:

one of these fun and funky camera straps that can be found here. (my sister in law amy introduced these to me) i'm sure that i need one. my camera would be so stylin'.

item #2 on my mother's day wish list:

this sweet KC hat from here. now i am in no way an actual Kansas City Royals fan, i don't think i have ever been to Kansas. but KC are my initials, so why not just wear them on my head?

item #3 on my mother's day wish list:

and sweetheart if you really want to spoil me,
this 50mm f 1.8 lens would do
and you can get it here. ooooooo.... so fun!

item #4 on my mother's day wish list:

this burt's bees lip shimmer you can
get here. i might actually get this one
because they also sell it at the bookstore
here on campus. i like this light color jeremy.

so there is my mother's day wish list....

hey, a girl can dream

p.s. mom... maybe you should make one of these lists to help your kiddos out

"relax to the max" trip revisted

so.... hawaii was a blast to say the least. our hotel was awesome. right on the beach with a sweet pool and nice rooms. we did nothing while we were there and we loved every minute of it. our daily schedule: wake up, eat cereal, walk on the rocks looking for wildlife (aka crabs), chill at the pool, eat lunch, play cards, watch some espn, chill at the pool, play cards, shower, walk into town, eat dinner, eat dessert, buy stuff (shirts, chocolate, sunscreen, etc.), walk back to the hotel, play cards, go to bed. it was the life. because of the time change we couldn't sleep past 6 in the morning and we were dead dog tired by 8. we are quite the party-ers. the manager kept wanting us to come in the office and schedule some "activities" but we were too excited to lay in the sun and swim. i am proud to say that i am tan! woohoo! dinner every night was so fun. every restaurant was right on the ocean and the food was great. loved it. we played skip-bo like it was our job and i think i won the most hands. woot woot! i had so much fun. jeremy is hilarious, i love him. hawaii was great!
