No Cashews?!

I was at the Green Walmart today and it seemed to be a happening place. We saw two people from our ward. They were probably there with the intent to buy some things, just like my mom. I went to the store with the intent to present to the world a grave injustice that is being done to anyone that is under 21 (and who also shops at the Green Walmart by my house).

This is aisle 12 of the Green Walmart. Aisle 12 has Beer, Wine, Popcorn, Nuts, and Beef Jerky. I happen to be under 21 and I happen to love cashews and popcorn. Do you see the problem here? I am not allowed to go down aisle 12 because this aisle also houses alcohol. Is this sign really trying to tell me that I cannot buy cashews until I am 21 years old?? What a joke... Don't the cashiers I.D. the people when they are actually purchasing the alcohol? I just don't understand the harm in walking past it even if you aren't allowed to drink it. Well, I guess they get picky at Green Walmarts, but then what about the gas stations? They just don't really care.

Getting Ready

Today I sewed the Y's on my scrubs. Well, I cut them out and then my mom sewed them on. We are supposed to have them on our scrubs for when our group is working in the orphanage and the hospital so that the workers know we are from BYU. I am starting to gather my stuff for Romania and I have so many things to do. Hopefully, I will get everything done in time!

New Specs!

I got new glasses! Whoo! I got to pick them up last night. I have two old pairs: some that fall off of my face but they are the right prescription and others that are not the right prescription but they fit better. I usually end up sporting the glasses that aren't the right prescription. I am so glad to be able to see everything with these glasses! :)
mom, I bet you just love that face!

Gettin' Cultured

Well, we have left the beautiful green scenery of the East Coast and traded it for the red rock scenery of St. George. My mom thinks that we need to be exposed to more culture so last night we went to The Sound of Music. I really liked it. Tonight we are going to Cedar City to see some Shakespearean comedy. We'll see how it goes...

The Ballgame

We all went to an Orioles baseball game tonight. We left after the 5th inning because we could see a storm coming in. The Orioles were playing the Toronto Blue Jays and they were tied 1-1 when we left. As we headed out of the stadium we got pelted with rain and we were all soaked by the time we got to the car. On the way home we saw an incredible lightening show and now the storm has reached the house. Its raining pretty hard! We are just hoping that the power won't go out. Here are some pictures before the weather got nasty...

Beautiful!

We went to the Washington, D.C. Temple this evening. It was my first time at this temple. It was so beautiful. Jeremy, his brother Richard, and his mom and dad went into the temple to do a session. They did some work for family names. Me and Wendy, Jeremy's little sister, went and wandered around the Visitor's Center. They had a display that had Book of Mormons in a whole bunch of different languages. I found the one in Romanian! Way cool!

We The People

Today Jeremy and I went to Washinton, D.C. It was my first time and it was so fun to see all those famous buildings.

We took the train from Baltimore to Washington, D.C.

The train came into the Union Station.

The Union Station was pretty cool on the inside, too.

Here is the Capitol Building

Me and J in front of the Washington Monument

The White House

The Archives of the United States of America: Home to the Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, and other cool, old documents.

Our train ride home... it was a long day. My legs are so exhausted! We each got a t-shirt and then I got a magnet to remember the day.

I'M ENGAGED!

True story for those of you that remember the April Fool's Day post. This actually happened. :) Here are some pictures to prove it!!

Jeremy was taking me on a little tour of the town he grew up in. After he showed me all the sites, we took a little walk on this pathway that was surrounded by green trees on both sides. It was so pretty. We walked down for a little bit and then I stopped to look at a huge butterfly. Then Jeremy got down on one knee and he proposed! I said YES! And now we are engaged! I am so excited! I didn't even see it coming and I almost forgot my camera at the house! That would have been a tragedy! Anyways... I couldn't be happier! I am the luckiest girl ever! I can't wait to marry Jeremy!

My 1st Fishing Adventure

Here is Jeremy and I. What a cute boy!

We rode bikes to the Gun Powder River.

It was such a beautiful ride!

Here is Jeremy in his waders... I opted to go without.

I learned how to fish right by this bridge.

Jeremy getting the fishing rods ready.

I caught a fish! It was huge! The biggest one I've ever caught!

We Left Our Mark

Me, Sam, and Riley all took a quick trip up to Cedar City today. Sam was doing stuff for college, so me and Riley were left to wander Cedar for the day. This was one fun thing that we stumbled upon...
We thought we would rearrange the cups to our liking. Hopefully, our names will still be up there next time you drive by.

  • At Slurpee, we call it a BrainFreeze. The scientific name for it is Sphenopalatine Ganglioneuralgia.

Walmart Special

Today my friend Katie and I headed to Walmart... to get manicures! It was so sweet! They are only $12! I know right now you are probably thinking... "Walmart!?! Is she serious?" And I am. Why go someplace to get some way expensive manicure when you can do it at your closest Walmart for less than $15? I think its pretty cool. The polish will come off eventually anyways so whats the point in spending more than that. Well, it was my first manicure and when I told the lady that, she put flowers on my ring fingers with rhinestones in the middle. Cute! They take walk-ins and they do a great job! Go check it out..

"Brush those choppers!"

(That's what my mom used to say to us when we were little.)

I picked up this little beauty today. I painted it last Tuesday night with my friend Jenn at The Artful Potter. She painted a mug and I painted this toothbrush holder. Painting is one of my most favorite things to do. This project consists of a few easy steps. You pick what you want to paint, you paint it, and then you pick it up five days later while the people that work there fire it for you. Its a lot of fun. I can't wait to put my little toothbrush in it.

Oh Dad...

Last night my dad had this great idea. He wanted to have bratwursts for Sunday dinner, so he passed the idea by my mom and headed to the green Walmart (The Neighborhood Market Walmart) by our house at about 11:00 to get the brats and the buns. He was so excited that he was doing it all by himself. He ended up coming home right at 11:53, a little later than we expected. Turns out that he saw some drunk guys driving around and he called 911. He was following them until the police could come. The drunk guys noticed my dad and they eventually lost him. My dad came home a little discouraged from the drunk guys getting away only to have my mom point out that the bratwursts that he bought were the kind that were marinated in beer. That wasn't really the taste we were going for. So needless to say we won't be having brats for dinner tonight.

The Weekend in Pictures

We headed to the beach for our 4th of July Celebration. We had a family reunion in California and we spent most of the days at Huntington Beach. It was alot of fun!

Here are my cute parents!

My dad tried surfing and he actually was pretty good. My cousin Stacey is an expert teacher.

Here I am... it was beautiful sunset.

Sam is having fun with Stacey and Tonya's little boy Ethan.
We were exhausted from the beach, but I was greeted with a pillow that said "Sweet Dreams" on it... what a thoughtful hotel.
We were going to run in this 5K race on Friday morning, but we got there after the race started. I thought it started at 9:00, but it really started at 8:00...oops! So we picked up our free t-shirts and our numbers and tried to look exhausted as we walked back to the car.

We were right by the life gaurds and they were running all over the place on the 4th. More people needed saving on the holiday.
We got pretty cozy on the beach with endless amounts of our closest friends.
